Carsonville-Port Sanilac schools cancelled all afternoon and evening activities Thursday, after a threat to the school building was discovered in a restroom. School officials said the safety and well-being of students and staff is always of prime concern and the Sheriff’s Department was called immediately. A thorough search of the building with police dogs was conducted, after school had dismissed for the day, with no significant findings. However, in order to maintain the security of the campus, all events were cancelled.
Sanilac County Undersheriff Brad Roff said students and staff are being questioned and would only say the threat referenced some type of explosion. Classes were held as scheduled today.
