Croswell Police Department is investigating an incident where a $100 counterfeit bill was turned into their office. Croswell Police Chief Dave Hall said the fake money was found earlier in the week, lying on the ground at a local gas station. He said there were clear indications of false markings including Japanese writing, red ink and the wrong kind of texture.
Hall said they are urging all business owners and citizens to check the authenticity of currency being passed, including fifty and hundred dollar bills.
