Marlette cagers win 16th of the year

BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Brown City took care of Laker in GTC-Crossover action last night 52-41 behind 17 points and 10 rebounds from Andrew Geiger and 13 points and 10 boards from Calvin Cook. The Green Devils made 5 of 6 free throws down the stretch to seal the win.

Harbor Beach knocked off Reese 60-52 on the strength of three players in double figures. Ryan Siemen led the winners with 19, Brady Kirsch scored 18 and James Schelke added 17.

Marlette had double figure scoring from Ethan McKenney, Bryce George and Issac Dale to post a 61-36 win over Bad Axe to go to 16-1 on the year. McKenney and George each had 13 while Dale added 12. Clark Brady had16 for the Hatchets.

Ubly had a near record performance by Anthony Sweeney in the Bearcats 57-39 win over Cass City. Sweeney finished with 26 points, one point off the school record, to pace Ubly to the GTC crossover win.

Ryan Campbell had 18 points and Josh Sauer had 12 for the Redskins in Sandusky’s 63-46 loss to USA.
