Man arrested after police chase

27-year old Anthony Orlando is facing multiple charges in Lapeer County after his alleged involvement in what police say was a 30-mile chase that resulted in his arrest. Police said Orlando had followed a 28-year old Imlay City woman from work. Orlando, already wanted on a warrant in Almont on an unrelated matter, quickly fled the scene in a pick-up truck when police arrived.

Attempts were made by police to disable his vehicle, with two marked cruisers being struck by Orlando’s vehicle. The chase ended when he lost control and became stuck in a field around 8:30 p.m.

After failing to comply with officers, police deployed a taser and took Orlando into custody.

He was lodged in the Lapeer County Jail with a bond set at $250,000 and was arraigned on criminal charges.
