81st annual Sanilac County Dairy Banquet held

The 81st annual Sanilac County Dairy Banquet was held last weekend, with awards being presented to several top performing dairy herds. More than 170 people attending the banquet at the Countryside Methodist Church in Sandusky. The Jim Frey Award, the top honor of the evening, was presented to Dr. Schroeder of Thumb Veterinary Clinic. The award is given in the memory of Jim Frey, a Sanilac County dairy producer who was killed in a car accident in 1977. It is given to one individual each year who exhibits outstanding leadership and involvement in the Sanilac County dairy industry.

James Reid had the top County Herd while Noll Dairy Farms of Croswell won five of seven performance categories, including the top four cows in the Senior 2 year old division.
