A two-vehicle accident near Peck caused injuries

(Elk Township) – Four people were involved in a two-car accident east of Peck Thursday afternoon. Emergency personnel responded to Peck Road, near Farr Road after receiving the call for assistance just before 1 p.m. According to police, 75-year old Kenneth Partello, of Croswell, was driving his pickup truck east on Peck Road when he lost control of the vehicle and crossed the centerline.

He struck a westbound pickup truck hauling an empty livestock trailer, driven by 67-year old Keith Lossing of Jeddo. The impact of the collision tore the livestock trailer in half.

Partello was transported to McKenzie Health System for treatment of injuries while his passenger, 43-year old Ann Hammond was not seriously injured.

Lossing, and his wife, 65-year old Linda Lossing, both of Jeddo were not seriously injured. Sheriff deputies said all occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident and alcohol was not a factor, however speed and road conditions were factors.

Partello was issued a citation for the accident. Deputies were assisted on scene by the Michigan State Police, Peck Police and Elk Township Fire, Sanilac EMS and Croswell EMS.
