Two longtime Brown City school board members concluded their service to the school district this month and were recognized at the board’s December meeting. Superintendent Doug Muxlow said Ron Marion and Mike Mittlestat were both strong board members, showing good leadership and dedicated to serving students and staff. Marion served on the board for 16 and a half years while Mittlestat served for nine and a half years.
Board member Jeff Liebler said both men were valuable to the board and appreciated the positive influences they were to the students. Both men were presented rocking chairs from the district as a token of the board’s appreciation.
The board also learned the district had received a $10,500 grant for the technology readiness program and another $7,000 for the school’s robotics team.
