New computers for ISD

Eight outdated computers in the Engineering and Design program at the Sanilac ISD will be replaced by new models, allowing the students to utilize newer software. Sanilac ISD Superintendent Duane Lange said the old computers were purchased in 2004 and unable to use the software students needed to completed their work.  The ISD board gave approval of the purchase totaling nearly $7,000.

In other board news, transition is beginning to take place on the ISD campus of replacing old light bulbs with new LED bulbs. Supt. Lange said it will be a slow transition, with hallways and offices being done first with the first 300 bulbs purchased. He projects the change will pay for itself in just over a year, saving the ISD $5,000 annually.
