In Boys basketball action Wednesday night, the Marlette Red Raiders put on a free throw shooting clinic, netting 26 of 33 tries, with three players scoring in double figures, in a 62 to 54 win over USA. Barrett George led the way with 18 points, Ethan McKenney had 15 points and Bryce George added 11.
Elsewhere, Elkton Pigeon Bayport hit a three-point shot at the buzzer to stun Ubly 33-31 and Harbor Beach won their first game of the season, holding on to beat Bad Axe 50-47 31.
In other boys games, Sandusky fell to Vassar 44-36, it was Cass City knocking off Memphis 57-48 and Millington slipped past Birch Run 56-49. The Almont vs. Brown City game was postponed and will be made up Jan 3rd.
In girls action, it was: Essexville Garber 63, Caro 28, Frankenmuth 62, Bridgeport 37 and Millington edged Birch Run 56 to 49.
