(New Haven) – In volleyball action, the Brown City Green Devils won their second straight Class C volleyball district Friday night, defeating Memphis in three straight games with scores of 25-16, 25-15 and 25-8. Senior Alexia Mason had 24 assists and two aces while Becki Krause finished with seven kills and 10 aces. The Lady Green Devils (now 41-9-5) rolled through district play undefeated and advance to Tuesday night’s regional contest with Reese, at Flint Hamady. Sandusky had a great tournament run, advancing to the Class C championship game in Marlette before bowing out with a tough loss to Reese by scores of 20-25, 25-9, 18-25 and 24-26. Callie Jacobson had 14 points and 33 assists and junior Haley Nelson collected 16 kills, eight blocks and served up 11 points. The Lady Redskins knocked off Millington and Kingston earlier last week to get to the finals. Deckerville earned a spot in a Class D title game at Carsonville-Port Sanilac, losing three straight to North Huron while North Branch and USA both celebrated championship wins.
