Volleyball teams compete in district championships

(Sanilac County) – Area high school volleyball teams have been giving extra effort in post season action this week, hoping to keep their seasons alive. Tournament action continues today in MHSAA volleyball districts as Brown City looks to keep their season alive. The Lady Green Devils advanced to tonight’s title game after knocking off Landmark Academy in a Class C semi-final match at New Haven. They will square off against league foe Memphis at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to regional action at Flint Hamady, playing Reese on Tuesday night.
In other tournament action, the Sandusky Redskins saw a successful season come to an end last night when they lost to Reese three games to one in Class C title action at Marlette and Deckerville came out on the short end of a Class D district final at C-PS, losing to North Huron three games to none. North Branch rolled to another Class B district championship and will play a regional semi-final game Tuesday night.
