Drug Task Force busts meth lab in Marlette

(MARLETTE) — One person was arrested following a raid on a reported methamphetamine lab in the city of Marlette Monday night. Acting on a call to central dispatch reporting drug activity in the area, officers from the Sanilac County Drug Task Force and Marlette Police Department conducted the raid in the 3200 block of Moore Street shortly after 7:00 p.m. Monday. A search of the home revealed the components and byproducts of meth production. A 36-year old Marlette man living at the home was arrested on a separate drug violation, and felony drug charges for the manufacture of meth will be sought when the investigation is complete. The scene was de-contaminated by officers specifically trained for hazardous cleanup, and the Sanilac County Health Department was notified of the potential environmental hazards. Officers were assisted at the scene by the Marlette Fire Department.
