(MAYFIELD TWP) — Lapeer County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating an armed robbery that took place early Friday morning at the Beacon and Bridge Gas Station located at 1898 North Lapeer Road in Mayfield Township. The store employee told deputies that he was stocking shelves and at first, did not notice the suspect who was behind the counter at the cash register. The employee encountered the robber who produced a weapon and demanded cash. The employee provided cash to the suspect who fled the store and escaped on foot. The employee, who was the only person in the building was not injured. Authorities are continuing their search for a white male, about five-feet ten-inches tall, weighs around 190 pounds and between 30 and 40 years old.
