DNR Weekly Fishing Report for the Thumb

yellow-perch-2

(AREA) — The DNR has released this weeks fishing report for the Thumb and Blue Water area. Anglers between Lexington and Port Sanilac caught lake trout, steelhead, Atlantic salmon, and walleye. In Harbor Beach, the wind and storms will have the fish scattered for a while, but they are catching steelhead and walleye. There is little action in Port Austin, except for the several smallmouth bass anglers catching and releasing. Pier fishing was spotty with assorted panfish and a couple of pike or white bass. Walleye fishing remains very good above the Bluewater Bridge in the St. Clair River. Anglers are catching fish in the Algonac and Harsens Island areas. White bass are still showing up in the lower river. In the Saginaw Bay, there were some fair perch catches off Gambil’s Marina near Pinconning. Catfish were taken from the Hot Pond. The east side of the bay was generally slow. Boat anglers from Sebewaing and Bay Port found walleye outside of the islands.
