Columbiaville man charged with assault with intent to murder

(LAPEER COUNTY) — Lapeer County authorities have charged a 36-year-old Columbiaville man with assault with intent to murder.Jeremiah Boshell is also a person of interest in a Macomb County murder. Lapeer County Sheriff’s deputies are assisting in the investigation. Authorities say Boshell visited Pioneer Transmission in Lapeer around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, with multiple firearms and wearing tactical gear. Deputies say Boshell verbally expressed that he was going to harm former co-workers, but they were not there at the time so he left. A Macomb County Sheriff’s deputy saw Boshell leave the business and followed him east on Davison Road. A Lapeer County Sheriff’s deputy intercepted Boshell’s vehicle and a chase ensued. During the pursuit, Boshell allegedly fired a gun at a pedestrian and at two Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies. No one was injured. Twelve minutes into the chase, Boshell lost control of his vehicle and crashed along eastbound I-69 near Wilder Road. He was then taken into custody and formally charged last Thursday with 17 counts, including three counts of assault with intent to murder, multiple felony firearm counts, multiple counts of firearms possession by a felon, and fleeing and eluding police. He remains jailed on a $750,000 bond. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate Boshell as a person of interest in the homicide case.
