Experts discuss future of auto industry at Center for Automotive Research seminars

(TRAVERSE CITY) — Industry insiders gathered over the weekend in Traverse City to discuss the future of the automotive industry during a seminar hosted by two economists with the Center for Automotive Research.

Dr. Sean McAlinden, Vice President for Strategic Studies and Chief Economist at the Center for Automotive Research, is a nationally recognized authority in the areas of automotive markets, forecasting, and international trade, as well as the effect of government regulation on the industry and economy.

Dr. McAlinden presented several slides to auto industry executives detailing his view of the future of the industry (see images below). McAlinden said that the industry has seen a downturn in recent years, but is also subject to deep cycles.
