Candidates file for November School Board Elections in Sanilac County

(AREA) — Two out of the seven school districts in Sanilac County will see contested school board races in November. The filing deadline to appear on the ballot was Tuesday, July 26 at 4 p.m. Sanilac County Clerk Denise McGuire has released the list of candidates. Voters in the Croswell-Lexington School district will select three new members to serve 6-year terms. The candidates include Greg Biscorner, Todd Boswell, Dennis Gardner, Jason Gillette, Steven Johnston, Wallace Mencavage, Michael Noll, Jill Prouse, Fred Ramage, Amie Stillson, and Joe Vitale. The Marlette district has seven people running for three open seats with 6-year terms. Incumbents Gina Kraft and Nik Woods are being challenged by Neal Bishop, Chris Clark, Scott Forbes, Nathan Hager, and Jamie Macumber.

In Brown City, Alan Burgess, Marylou Jacobs, and Mark Shadley are seeking the three 4-year terms on the board. Running for the two 2-year terms on the Carsonville-Port Sanilac School Board are Raymond Miller and Sandra Washe. Renzie Milarch is the lone candidate for the only 6-year term. Voters in Deckerville will see Amy Dumaw running for the lone 2-year term. Jason McConnachie and Curtis Vogel and seeking the two 4-year terms on the board and Spencer Osborne is the only candidate that filed for one of the two 6-year terms on the Deckerville School Board. There are no contested races in Peck as Roy Hickman and Stephanie MacMillan are running for the two 2-year terms and Renee Alfaro and Shane Welch are vying for the two 6-year terms on the board. Sandusky voters will see Susan Dreyer, Robert Hassler, and Carolyn Stoutenburg running for the three 6-year terms.
