Lexington woman injured after vehicle hits deer

(SANILAC TOWNSHIP) — A 40-year old Lexington woman was injured after her vehicle struck a deer Thursday morning on M-46 near State Road in Sanilac Township. Sheriff’s deputies say Cynthia Powell was heading west on M-46 around 9 a.m. when she was unable to avoid the collision with the deer that entered the roadway. The impact caused the airbags in her Ford Expedition to deploy. Powell was injured and taken to McKenzie Health System for treatment. Deputies were assisted by Port Sanilac Fire and Sanilac EMS.
