(PORT SANILAC) — A 29-year old man wanted on several outstanding arrest warrants was taken into custody on Memorial Day in Port Sanilac. Sanilac County Sheriff Garry Biniecki says Deputy Chad Adams was working a shift through the Operation Stonegarden grant and recognized the suspect walking down the street. The man’s identity was confirmed and he was arrested on local warrants including felony flight to avoid prosecution/absconding, dangerous drugs, probation violation, and failure to pay child support. The felony absconding and drug warrants were issued back in 2014. The suspect had fled the state since those were issued and had only been back for a short time. Operation Stonegarden supports enhanced cooperation and coordination among Customs and Border Protection, Border Patrol, and other law enforcement agencies to secure the U.S. borders.
