(WHEATLAND TOWNSHIP) — Sanilac County Sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate a one-vehicle accident that happened Thursday afternoon on Banner Road near Stone Road in Wheatland Township. The mishap occurred when an SUV driven by a 16-year old Deckerville teen went out of control and entered a ditch. The vehicle struck a driveway embankment causing it to go airborne. The driver was taken by ambulance to Deckerville Hospital for treatment of her injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash and deputies say the girl was wearing her seat belt. Deckerville Fire and Police and Sanilac EMS assisted at the scene.
