(WATERTOWN TWP.) — Three people were injured in a two-car crash Wednesday afternoon in Sanilac County’s Watertown Township. Sanilac County Sheriff Deputies report that 40-year-old Matthew Bailey and his 32-year-old passenger, Heather Bailey of Applegate were traveling west on Marlette Road in a minivan, when he failed to stop at the intersection of M-19 and Marlette Road. Bailey entered the path of a pickup truck driven by 54-year-old James Rochford, of Tecumseh who was traveling south on M-19. The impact caused the minivan to overturn several time before coming to rest on it wheels. The pickup went off the west side of the road and struck a tree. Using their “Jaws of Life” the Sandusky Fire Department was able to free Heather Bailey from the minivan. Hailey and Matthew Bailey were then transported by EMS to McKenzie Health System for treatment. James Rochford was taken to Marlette Regional Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Their conditions were not reported. Police say alcohol is not a factor in the crash.
