19-year-old Lexington man killed in motorcycle crash

(Worth Township) — A 19-year old Lexington man was killed in a car-motorcycle crash Friday morning around 8:35am in Sanilac County’s Worth Township.

According to Sanilac County Undersheriff Brad Roff, a 55-year-old Deckerville man was traveling east on Galbraith Line Road in a pickup truck when he turned north onto St Clair Road directly into the path of the Kawasaki dirt bike. The motorcycle rider, 19-year-old Branden Regan, a senior at Cros-Lex Schools attending the school’s Secondary Alternative Education Program, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say he was wearing proper safety equipment at the time of the crash. The driver of the pickup was not injured. He was arrested on charges related to the accident and taken to the Sanilac County Jail. The Sanilac County Sheriff”s Accident Investigation Team is investigating the accident. The name of the driver of the pickup is not being released at this time, pending charges and results of toxicology tests. Sanilac County Sheriff Deputies were assisted at the scene by multiple police and first responders. Galbraith Line Road and St Clair Road were closed at the intersection for several hours as police investigated.
