Sanilac County Public Safety Cookout and Awards Program June 11; nominations being accepted

(SANILAC COUNTY) — The annual Sanilac County Public Safety Cookout and Awards Program is set for Saturday, June 11 at the Sanilac Shrine Park. Along with a steak dinner, games, and family activities, the awards ceremony honoring the Police Officer, Firefighter, EMT, Dispatcher, and Citizen of the Year will be held at 7 p.m. Nominations are now being accepted for each category and are due by Wednesday, May 11. Residents are asked to deliver or mail their nomination to Sandusky Fire Chief Todd Hillman at 161 S. Elk Street, Sandusky, MI 48471. The event is open to the public and tickets are available at every Sanilac County law enforcement agency and fire department beginning May 7. The dinner will be served from 4-7 p.m. and the cost is $15 per person. The First Responder Softball Game gets underway at Noon with concession stands and a refreshment stand open all day.
