(AREA) — Sanilac County Community Mental Health has honored Jeff Thompson with their 2016 “Staff of the Year” award and Sheriff Garry Biniecki with the “Community Partner in Recovery” award. Jeff works as a Clinician/Clinical Coordinator for Community Mental Health. According to Executive Director Jim Johnson, he is a real team player who truly embodies the organizations mission statement. Sheriff Biniecki was recognized for his partnership throughout the years with CMH. Johnson noted that Sheriff Biniecki has gone out of his way to ensure that the relationship between the Sheriff’s Office and Community Mental Health is a strong and positive one. Sheriff Biniecki has made it possible for consumers of mental health services in the county to be included in turkey giveaways, he has assigned his work crews to assist in foster home moves, and has participated with CMH in its “Stop the Bull” campaign against cyber bullying.
