(TUSCOLA COUNTY) — Tuscola County Sheriff’s deputies report that a breaking and entering was reported around 9 a.m. Friday morning in the Murphy Lake area near Millington. Authorities say a 73-year old man left his residence to visit with a family member for just a few minutes, right down the road. He returned not long after and was confronted by a man wearing dark colored clothing and a hoodie. The suspect hit the man in the head with a blunt object, causing lacerations. The suspect then took off in what is believed to be a blue four-door Chrysler or Dodge with a broken “vent” window. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities say it’s not known if the suspect took anything from the home before leaving. Tuscola County Sheriff’s deputies are being assisted by the Michigan State Police during the investigation.
