All-clear after threats prompt Michigan casino evacuation

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) – The all-clear has been given after officials say threatening calls prompted the evacuation of about 2,500 people from a mid-Michigan casino and hotel. Erik Rodriguez, interim public relations director for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, tells MLive.com that Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort in Mount Pleasant on Thursday night received two bomb threats about 15 minutes apart that concerned officials. Rodriguez says guests and employees of the casino and hotel were evacuated as a precaution. The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant reports police and sheriff’s officials searched the facilities. No one was injured and the search turned up nothing suspicious. Rodriguez says the all-clear was given Friday morning and the public was expected to be allowed back inside the facilities.
