(ST. CLAIR COUNTY) — Three people were seriously injured in a head-on collision late Sunday afternoon in St. Clair County. Sheriff’s deputies say a pickup truck was traveling west on Smiths Creek Road near Sturdevant Road when the driver crossed the centerline and collided with a van, which was traveling east. A 36-year old Columbus Township woman inside the pickup and two people inside the van, a 62-year old man and 60-year old woman, both of Clyde Township, were all transported by EMS to area hospitals. All three had to be extricated from their vehicles by firefighters. Deputies say the roadway was slushy at the time of the crash, as a winter-like mix of weather moved through the area.
