St. Clair County Sheriff announces promotions

(PORT HURON TOWNSHIP) — Four members of the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office staff have been promoted with the retirements of Captain Ron Muxlow and Lt. Jim Terpenning. Sheriff Tim Donnellon says Lt. Matt Paulus has been promoted to the rank of Captain of the Road Patrol Division. He has previously held supervisory positions in the Detective Bureau, Road Patrol and Drug Task Force and began his career with the Sheriff’s Office in December of 1986. Sgt. Joe Hernandez has been promoted Lieutenant in the Road Patrol Division. Joe started his career with the department in August 1995 and has worked as a Sergeant in the Road Patrol Division and is a supervisor for the Special Response Team. Deputy Tom Jackson has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Tom has been a member of the Drug Task Force and was working in the Secondary Road Traffic Unit. His career at the Sheriff’s Office began in February of 1988. Deputy Scott Baldwin has also been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Scott has been a member of the Road Patrol Unit and works with State Farm Insurance in holding demonstrations of the driving simulator at schools and special events to teach driving safety. Scott has been with the Sheriff’s Office since December of 1999.
