CPS Schools looking into summer program

(CARSONVILLE-PORT SANILAC) — Carsonville-Port Sanilac Schools interim Superintendent Gale Travis discussed the possibility of a summer program at the elementary school during last week’s meeting. He stated that the plans at this time include children age 18 and under to receive breakfast and lunch and use the library at no charge. Enrichment classes for current CPS students would be offered at no charge and others 18 and under would pay on a tuition base. CPS students in grades K-3rd would also have reading classes available to them at no charge. Parents interested in more information on the proposed summer program are asked to contact Mr. Travis at 810-657-9393. In other business the board was updated on transportation by Mr. Fruge. Two camera systems have been installed in two of the district’s busses and all CPS bus drivers are currently certified and trained in CPI, CPR, First Aid, and AED.
