Late Winter Storm leaves behind wet, heavy snow in the Thumb; traffic slowed with slippery roads

(AREA) — Motorists got another round of winter weather Wednesday that left between 2-4 inches of heavy wet snow in the Thumb. The rain that fell left roads full of slush and slippery. Tuscola County Sheriff’s deputies say a tanker truck hauling milk overturned on M-81 near Bradford Road due to slippery conditions. The tanker was hauling 3,000 gallons of milk at the time. Numerous spin-outs and jack-knifed semi’s were reported throughout Sanilac and Huron counties. Weather conditions will improve into the weekend. There will be scattered snow showers tonight with our temperatures in the mid-20’s, but warmer temps are forecast for Easter weekend.
