Law enforcement takes part in March is Reading Month

(AREA) — March is Reading Month and Thumb area students had the opportunity this week to hear from the people that keep their communities safe. Sanilac County Sheriff Garry Biniecki took time out of his busy day to read to Mrs. Christopher’s Kindergarten class at Brown City Elementary. In St. Clair County, Sheriff Tim Donnellon, Captain Tom Bliss and Captain Ron Muxlow read books at Kimball Elementary School, visiting Mrs. Brennan’s ECSE class, Mrs. McKenzie’s 3rd graders, and the 4th grade classes of Mrs. Orr and Mrs. Homik. Many classrooms opened their doors to lawmakers, community leaders, and law enforcement personnel around the Thumb to continue the tradition of reading to children.
