(IRA TOWNSHIP) — St. Clair County authorities say the suspect who is believed to have set fire to a bathroom at Anchor Bay High School Monday morning is in police custody. Sheriff Tim Donnellon says a 15-year old freshman at the school was interviewed at his home in New Haven and taken into custody. The teen was taken to the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing in the Family Division of St. Clair County Circuit Court. The fire broke out in an upstairs bathroom at Anchor Bay High School just before 10:30 a.m. Monday. The building was evacuated. Fire crews contained the blaze to the bathroom and no injuries were reported. During their investigation, Sheriff’s deputies reviewed surveillance video from the hallway outside of the bathroom.
