Cooperative Elevator Company announces Scott Gordon as new CEO

(PIGEON) — Michigan-based Cooperative Elevator Company has announced the hiring of Scott Gordon as the company’s new CEO effective May 9. Board Chairman Kurt Ewald says Scott brings a wealth of senior management experience in the agriculture and food sector and just as important, he comes with a deep appreciation of what makes up our successful farmer0owned cooperative. Before joining Cooperative Elevator, Gordon served in multiple senior management roles with SunOpta Inc., beginning in 2001. He started his agribusiness career in 1997, leading a major seed plant expansion and research center development projects in Australia and North America for DuPont-Pioneer. Cooperative Elevator Company is owned by more than 1,100 farmer producers and has been in business since 1915. The company is headquartered in Pigeon and has plants in Akron, Bad Axe, Deckerville, Elkton, Fairgrove, Gagetown, Jeddo, North Branch, Pigeon, Ruth and Sebewaing.
