Representative Lauwers joins lawmakers in celebrating Ag Day at Capitol

(AREA) — State Representative Dan Lauwers, Chair of the House Committee on Agriculture, joined his colleagues in welcoming representatives of the state’s agriculture industry to Lansing for Michigan Ag Day. Lauwers spent time visiting the many exhibits set up in the Capitol building to demonstrate the positive impact the agriculture industry has on the state’s economy, as well as to view advances in technology to increase the crop yields that feed Michigan, the nation, and the world. Representative Lauwers said lawmakers will be able to see the results of the upcoming planting season in the fall, when the Legislature hosts two farmers markets on the Capitol lawn.
