Suspect in Port Huron Dairy Queen Robbery Heading to Trial

(PORT HURON) — The trial for a man accused of using a machete to rob a Port Huron Dairy Queen last November will start on Tuesday, March 15. Officials say 30-year old Andrew Bowen of Clyde Township has been charged with armed robbery. He did not enter a plea in the case during a hearing Monday. His bond is set at $150,000 cash/surety. Authorities say the suspect entered the restaurant the evening of November 17 and ordered a blizzard. As the clerk rang up the purchase, the suspect pulled out a machete and told the clerk to back up. The suspect then reached into the register drawer and stole an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene. Tips through the CAPTURE hotline lead to Bowen’s arrest two days after the heist.
