Remember to “Spring Forward” this weekend

(AREA) — Daylight Saving Time begins Sunday, March 13 at 2 a.m. Residents are reminded to set their clocks ahead an hour before they go to bed on Saturday, March 12. Daylight Saving Time affects our clocks twice a year. It begins in Spring when clocks are turned forward an hour on the second Sunday in March, shifting an hour of light from the morning to the evening. When it ends in the Fall, clocks are set back an hour and Standard Time resumes the first Sunday in November. Don’t forget to set those clocks ahead an hour before bed Saturday night. It’s also a good time to put new batteries in warning devices such as smoke detectors and hazard warning radios.
