Michigan State Police adds 13 Motor Carrier Officers

(AREA) — Thirteen additional Michigan State Police motor carrier officers graduated from the 20th Motor Carrier Officer Recruit School this past weekend. Governor Rick Snyder was the keynote speaker at the ceremony held at the Lansing Center. He noted that the graduating officers are highly trained and their role is vital to Michigan’s economy, public safety, and the protection of our highway infrastructure. Motor carrier officers are armed uniformed members of the Michigan State Police who specialize in commercial vehicle enforcement. Graduating recruits will report to their respective posts across the state for duty this week. Out of the 13 graduates, Motor Carrier Officer Michael Verbruggen of Madison Heights was assigned to the Lapeer Post.
