Sandusky City Council adopts budget; several projects slated for fiscal year

(SANDUSKY) — Following a public hearing on Monday evening, the Sandusky City Council adopted the budget for the fiscal year beginning on April 1. The new spending guide calls for expenditures and revenues totaling $1,847,000, which is a decrease of $127,000 from the current budget. City Manager Dave Faber says the decrease is attributed to the completion of a number of projects including the splash pad. Projects this year include construction of the downtown wall, improvements to the public parking lot behind Ace Hardware, and improvements to the facilities at the city park. Street work will include construction of Park Street in the industrial park, improvements to Dawson Street, and crack sealing on a number of streets in the city. Sandusky has also received a $565,000 grant for improvements to the sewer system. The work will include cleaning and video imaging of all sewers assessing the system and providing an asset management plan.
