Residents encourage to take survey to improve the health of our community

(AREA) — The hospitals and health departments located in Huron, Sanilac, and Tuscola Counties are committed to helping their residents stay healthy. As part of a Thumb Community Health Needs assessment, local hospitals and health departments are conducting a survey. Participating hospitals include Caro Community Hospital, Deckerville Community Hospital, Harbor Beach Community Hospital, Hills and Dales General Hospital in Cass City, Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe, Marlette Regional Hospital, McKenzie Health System in Sandusky, and Scheurer Hospital in Pigeon. These organizations are seeking the public’s open and honest feedback regarding health needs, utilization of local services, and suggestions for improvement. Results from the survey will be used to plan local, county, and regional health initiatives. Anyone may pick up a survey at various locations throughout the three counties such as libraries or doctor offices. The survey deadline in Huron and Sanilac counties is March 15, 2016 and in Tuscola County on June 30, 2016.
