(ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP) — St. Clair County Sheriff’s deputies say a 17-year old Casco Township teen was killed in a two vehicle crash Monday evening in St. Clair Township. The victim, Grace Achatz, was driving south on Wadhams Road when she failed to yield at a stop sign around 5 p.m. Her vehicle was struck broadside by a vehicle traveling west on Fred Moore Highway, driven by a 63-year old Brights Grove, Ontario man. Achatz was transported by EMS to St. John River District Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The Brights Grove man and his passenger, a 79-year old Columbus Township man, were also transported to River District Hospital with undisclosed injuries. St. Clair Police and Fire assisted at the scene of the crash. The intersection of Wadhams and Fred Moore Highway was closed for about two and a half hours for investigative purposes.
