U.S. Car Sales Shift Between December 2015 and December 2014

Several U.S. auto companies were among those that saw a substantial increase in sales in 2015. From December 2014 to December 2015, the below companies saw the following increases:

GM sold 290,230 vehicles with an increase of 5.7%
Ford sold 237,606 vehicles with an increase of 8.3%
Toyota sold 238,350 vehicles with an increase of 10.8%
Honda sold 150,893 vehicles with an increase of 9.9%
Chrysler sold 213,665 vehicles with an increase of 12.8%
Nissan sold 139,000 vehicles with an increase of 18.7%

Additionally, Hyundai saw a decrease in sales. The company sold 63,508 vehicles with a decrease of 1.5% from 2014.

The Detroit Big Three had 45.1% of all car sales in December 2015. 

The total number of vehicles sold from December 2014 to December 2015 was 17,470,499, an increase of 9%
