Stolen vehicle and motorcycles recovered in January 10 incident in Sanilac County

(AREA) — Troopers from the Caro State Police Post and Marlette Police recovered a stolen vehicle and a enclosed trailer containing stolen motorcycles and power tools earlier this month. Authorities were sent to M-53 near Airport Road Sunday, January 10 for a Chevy Trailblazer that was found in the ditch. The vehicle had been heading southbound pulling an enclosed trailer and the driver fled the scene before officers arrived. An investigation revealed that the Trailblazer was stolen from Ogemaw County. The enclosed trailer had two stolen Harley Davidson motorcycles inside, along with hundreds of Harley Davidson motorcycle parts and miscellaneous power tools. The motorcycles were reported stolen from around the state. It’s unknown if the trailer was stolen. The identity numbers were ground off. The 15-foot long fiberglass trailer was once red in color and has since been painted gray. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Michigan State Police Caro Post at 989-673-2158.
