Marathon Gas Station Armed Robbery Suspect Found Dead

(PORT HURON) — Port Huron Police say the suspect in the January 5 Marathon Gas Station robbery is dead. The heist took place just after 10 p.m. at the gas station located at 1301 Military Street in Port Huron. The suspect entered the store and pulled out a long rifle, demanding money. The clerk was able to grab the gun, but during the struggle, the suspect got the gun back and fled the store on foot. On Saturday, January 9, officers were called to a home in the 1100 block of 10th Avenue after a report of an unresponsive man. The victim, 30-year old Jordan Neil Mason of Port Huron, was pronounced dead at the scene. During the investigation, police found items in the home that implicated Mason in the robbery. An autopsy is pending.
