Additional charges brought against Imlay City man caught at Blue Water Bridge with runaway

(LAPEER COUNTY) — The 49-year old Imlay City man arrested at the Blue Water Bridge with a runaway minor faces additional charges following his preliminary exam Tuesday in Lapeer County. Roger Reid was bound over to Circuit Court on the original six charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, child abusive commercial activity, controlled substance provided to a minor, child accosting for immoral purpose and harboring a runaway. He has also been charged with 14 additional counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of delivering marijuana to a minor. Authorities say Reid was stopped by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials at the bridge on December 13 with a 15-year old Detroit girl. The minor originally told police that she was 18-years old an had met Reid online. She was returned to her family. Police say Reid is a registered sex offender. He remains behind bars on a $250,000 bond in the Lapeer County jail. His Circuit Court arraignment has been scheduled for Monday, January 25.
