Court hearing set for Imlay City man caught with runaway girl

(LAPEER COUNTY) — The Imlay City man arrested at the Blue Water Bridge with a runaway minor has been scheduled to appear in court January 5. 49-year old Roger Reid has been charged with six counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, child abusive commercial activity, controlled substance provided to a minor, child accosting for immoral purpose and harboring a runaway. He was stopped by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials at the bridge with a 15-year old Detroit girl. The minor originally told police that she was 18-years old an had met Reid online. Authorities say Reid is a registered sex offender. His preliminary exam will take place in Lapeer County District Court. Reid remains jailed on a $250,000 bond in the Lapeer County jail. The 15-year old girl is back with her family in Detroit.
