Capac man faces additional charge in child pornography case

(CAPAC) — The 38-year old Capac man charged with producing and possessing child sexually abusive material has also been charged with criminal sexual conduct. Michael David Aleck appeared in St. Clair County District Court Tuesday and was arraigned on the charge of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under the age of 13. His preliminary exam was scheduled for January 19. Michigan State Police Troopers from the Caro Post were alerted of the activity after disturbing images were found on computer hard drives that had once allegedly belonged to Aleck. Abandon property left at Aleck’s former apartment in Almont was sold, including the hard drives. Search warrants served at his Capac residence resulted in the seizure of a computer and other electronic devices and media storage files. The items were turned over to the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit for analysis and additional child pornography was found. Bond has been set at $250,000.
