New K-9 joining St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department

(PORT HURON TOWNSHIP) — The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is welcoming K-9 Deputy Faust to their road patrol unit. Faust is a 2-year old German Shepherd, born in Holland and raised in Pennsylvania. Faust’s handler, Deputy Mike Pink, went to Pennsylvania to train with him and recently brought him back to St. Clair County. Faust and Deputy Pink will officially begin working together on January 1, 2016. K-9 Deputy Faust has been trained in narcotics detection, tracking, building search, area search and article search. Faust will be Deputy Pink’s second K-9 partner. His first K-9, Fist, is retiring as of the first of the year. Fist, who won numerous awards with Deputy Pink during his 8 1/2-years with the Sheriff’s Office, will continue to be part of the Pink family household in his retirement.
