(SANILAC COUNTY) — Two Marlette area residents were arrested Wednesday following a traffic stop that turned up illegal drugs. Sanilac County Drug Task Force officers were assisted during the stop on M-53 in the south limits of Marlette around 7 p.m. Evidence at the scene led to a search warrant at a home in the 3100 block of Fenner Street in Marlette where “sale” amounts of cocaine, crack cocaine, marijuana, prescription pills, mushrooms, cash, and drug packaging materials were seized. A man and woman, both age 36, were arrested on drug-related charges. Authorities say additional evidence was found by corrections deputies during a booking search of the woman. An investigation continues. Drug Task Force Officers were assisted by the Marlette Police Department, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Drug K-9, and Sanilac County Sheriff’s deputies.
