Four students caught after marijuana investigation at Lakers School

(HURON COUNTY) — Three students from the Elkton Pigeon-Bay Port Laker School District could be permanently suspended from their athletic teams after Huron County Sheriff’s deputies investigated an incident regarding the alleged sale of marijuana at the school. During their investigation, deputies began surveillance on Geiger Road in Oliver Township where a duffel bag containing marijuana was supposedly hidden. Shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, authorities observed four male students pull up on the road and get out of the vehicle, retrieving the bag. The vehicle was stopped a short distance later. Three 18-year old boys and a 16-year old were questioned and the marijuana was confiscated. The 18-year old who retrieved the bag was arrested on a misdemeanor possession of marijuana charge. The other three were released to their parents and additional possession of marijuana charges are being requested through the Huron County Prosecutor’s Office.
