Capac man arrested for producing and possessing child sexually abusive material

(CAPAC) — Troopers from the MSP Lapeer Post arrested a 38-year old Capac man on charges of producing and possessing child sexually abusive material. Michael David Aleck was arraigned Tuesday in 72nd District Court in St. Clair County. The investigation began when abandoned property left at Aleck’s former apartment in Almont was sold. Some of the property sold included hard drives from a computer. When the purchaser of the hard drives viewed them and discovered the disturbing images, he contacted the state police. Search warrants were served at the man’s current residence and authorities seized a computer with other electronic devices and media storage files. The items were turned over to the Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit for analysis and additional child pornography was found. Five victims from the National Missing and Exploited Children Clearinghouse were verified in the photographs.
